PRE-AGREEMENT CHECK LIST FOR STURGELL’S EQUESTRIAN CENTER, LLC
Please read to the bottom of page / Printable page
Horses coming to SECLLC MUST have a current COGGINS test within the past 12 months. Bring
document for proof.
Horses coming to SECLLC need to have had a STRANGLES VACCINE and a TETANUS shot in the
current year before their arrival. Bring veterinarian certification of proof.
(Strangles is HIGHLY contagious, especially to younger horses. I also HIGHLY recommend each horse to
also have FLU, RHINO, RABIES, ENCEPHALITIS and preferably, WEST NILE and RABIES shots for its
own protection while at SECLLC also. These are at your own discretion, rabies is confirmed in this area.)
Our billing cycle is for ONE CALENDAR MONTH AT A TIME. You will be billed by the month time cycle that
your horse stays here, beginning on its drop off day. No exceptions. We will bill by the week/day should we
go over or under a month, (if horse arrived on 21st of month, your bill is due on the 21st of the next
Owner is to fill out AND SIGN a training agreement/release form from SECLLC that documents the
vaccinations, dates, agreement, etc.
Having the horse de-wormed, and their feet in decent condition before arrival is mandatory. SECLLC
DOES NOT HAVE A FARRIER ON SPEED DIAL AND WILL NOT "CALL AROUND FOR" A FARRIER
BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BRING A HORSE WITH BAD FEET. Please do not schedule bringing your
horse until it has its feet properly trimmed, and has been dewormed.
If it has been over 2 years since your horse has had his teeth floated and balanced, then please have
that taken care of before bringing it for training. Bad teeth make for a painful mouth which in turn makes it
difficult to ride and train a horse. I DO HAVE A RECOMMENDATION FOR A STATE CERTIFIED EQUINE
DENTIST WHO DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB FLOATING-BALANCING-MAKING BIT SEATS-
ROUNDING OFF CANINES-COMPLETELY GETS RID OF HOOKS AND SHARP POINTS (not all
veterinarians can or will do this with their simple tools, not all equine "dentists" are properly trained and
certified). Please ask me for MY equine dentist's number!
Should SECLLC have to haul your horse to the veterinarian or farrier, etc., while here: Trailering fees are
.75 per mile loaded, .50 empty if under a 50 mile drive. $1.00 loaded, .75 empty if over 50 mile drive.
AND VACCINATIONS are important, not only for your own horse’s welfare during their stay here, but are detrimental for
keeping other people’s horses, and my own, safe and healthy while they stay here at SECLLC. It is only fair that ALL
clients keep their horses vaccinated and UTD on coggins tests when you are traveling from your own home.
~~State law requires that you carry documentation of your horse’s current coggins test with you whenever
you travel with your horse.
Other things noteworthy: Please provide a bottle or 2 of decent fly spray each month your
horse stays at SECLLC as our riding areas are all out doors. They will be used on YOUR
horse only!! Anything unused you have brought will be returned to you (spray, meds, hay...).
Please schedule your training time for your horse (30,60,90 days) so that your horse will be
leaving here by the end of October. That is the end of training sessions at SECLLC.
As of 2014, all clients bringing horses will be required to bring hay for their horse in training.
Please provide 8-10 bales of GOOD-EATABLE hay for your horse when you drop him off.
Any not used will be returned. Training fee for those bringing hay will be dropped to $550.
