Due to the inherent risk of equine activities and the unpredictable nature of horses a Participant or a participant's
representative or any family member or guardian or friend of family may not make a claim against, maintain an
action against, or recover from an equine activity or professional at Sturgell’s Equestrian Center, LLC, or any of the
employees for injury, loss, damage, or death of a participant or spectator resulting from inherent risk of equine
activities. "Inherent risk of equine activities" means the danger or conditions that are an integral part of equine
activities including the following:1.The propensity of an equine to behave in ways that may result in the injury, harm,
or death to a person on or around the equine. 2. The unpredictability of an equine's reaction to such things as
sound, sudden movement, unfamiliar objects, people, or other animals. 3. Hazards such as surface and subsurface
conditions. 4. Collisions with other equines or objects. 5. The potential for a participant to act in a negligent manner
that may contribute to injury to the participant or others, such as failing to maintain control over the animal or not
acting within the participant's ability. "A participant means a person, whether an amateur, a professional, or an
employee who engages in an equine activity, whether or not a fee is paid by a participant or to a participant in the
equine activity." Sturgell’s Equestrian Center, LLC, or any of the employees or family members doing business at
this riding center is not liable for: 1. An injury to a participant or spectator: or 2. The death of a participant or
spectator: resulting from an inherent risk of equine activities.

RULES OF USE FOR PRIVATELY OWNED HORSE, TACK, AND GENERAL LESSON ADVICE
This form further releases SECLLC from blame or retribution for injury, sickness, loss, mishap, death, or any other
misfortune that may and could happen to any horse being transported to and from SECLLC, being brought on to
SECLLC’s properties for use in riding lessons or other use by the student(s) and/or rider(s); schooling done on or
around the horse(s) by SECLLC and student(s), rider(s), or any activity involving the horse(s) or their surroundings,
due to the inherent risk of equine activities at SECLLC.SECLLC is not responsible for any of the student’s, rider’s,
participant’s tack being damaged, broken, lost or stolen while involved in traveling to and from SECLLC, while in use
at SECLLC, nor while at SECLLC under any circumstances and conditions.
**Horses being brought to SECLLC for any reason must be up to date and have current proof on Coggins testing,
Strangles vaccinations and basic shots, including Tetanus. Hooves must be in a current trimmed or shod condition.
The horse must be deemed healthy enough for activity by SECLLC. The horse must be deemed by SECLLC as
usable as a lesson horse, ie, trained in basic riding, calm, gentle, and ridable to the level of the lesson. Should the
horse need schooling to be ridable and usable by SECLLC, then a fee for those services will be rendered.
Schooling will only happen at the owner's permission. Tack must be safe, usable, and fit the horse accurately, and
the rider accurately. Riding lessons and schooling may be postponed or cancelled for any of the above reasons not
being right. The rider is to wear riding type boots with a heel, dress appropriately for riding and equine activities,
with long pants, and preferably provide and wear an ASTM rider protection helmet.
I HEREBY SIGN THAT I UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING A HELMET, AND I WAVE THE
PROTECTION OF WEARING AN ASTM RIDING HELMET DURING RIDING AT SECLLC:

involvement with SECLLC and its activities, horses, people, farm and grounds.
